TK-WARS features:

CONTROL-KEYS Control-C and Control-P abort the current command stack.
Control-P acts as a screen redraw in DUAL-MODE.
Control-O disables output and throws it away; useful for
               slow baud rate connections;
Control-W deletes the current word of the current input
               line.
Control-U deletes the entire current input line.
Control-V redraws the current input line.
Control-S and Control-Q [may] start and stop output.

ANSI-COLORS Use the `SET ANSI ON' and `SET TEXT <color>' commands if
your terminal supports ANSI COLOR CODE ESCAPE SEQUENCES.
Color is a very useful tool that makes reading game I/O mes-
               sages easier.

ALIASES A command alias is a method to "alias" one string to another
               string.

Each user may have 99 alias files; each alias file may have
up to 30 aliases; each alias word may be up to 30 characters
in length; each alias expansion may be up to 150 characters
long. Currently, slashes `/'s can not appear in an alias
               expansion.

Aliases are very useful in setting up default command
strings or attack macros. For example:

                       ALIAS DO DOCK ST D E S

will alias the `DO' command to expand as:

                       DOCK ST D E S

See `HELP ALIAS' for more information.

EXEC FILES An exec file is a useful way of storing sets of commonly
               used commands.

Each user may have up to 99 exec files. Each exec file is
unlimited in size. Exec file #1 is always executed whenever
               you enter the galaxy.

See `HELP EXEC' for more information.

TASKS Sometimes it is useful to have certain events occure on a
timely basis. Currently, such events (TASKS) are displaying
ship status, galaxy summary, and the time. The galaxy sum-
mary tasks is very useful during team wars and saves you the
trouble of having to issue a manual `SUMMARY' command.

See `HELP BG' for more details. If using DUAL-MODE, task
               output appears in the MESSAGE-BOX.

$VARS Internal variables may be used in radio messages. These
               variables are: `$HERE', `$AT', `$NAME', and `$SHIP'. When
combined with aliases, these macros can be rather useful.

               For example, the command

ALIAS HAHA TE ALL;The Great $NAME just killed $* in the $LASTKILL

               followed by the command:

                       HAHA a twit

                will produce,

TE ALL;The Great KAHN just killed a twit in the N.

GAL CONFIGS There are many different types of galaxy configurations
which to initialize the galaxy from. Explaining all of the
configurations here is too much for this document; however,
it can be mentioned that the following options are configur-
able on a per galaxy basis and may be asked for when setup:

                       - galaxy size
                       - galaxy reservations (teams or password)
                       - war's time limit
                       - endgame type
                       - match type
                       - status of the war (declared or not)
                       - if the romulans can play
                       - the existence of pulsars, black holes, super holes
                       - the existence of neutral bases and HQ bases
                       - the existence of space herpies (viruses)
                       - the existence of moving ports and regenerating ports

The following options are also set on a per galaxy basis but
are only alterable in the galaxy config file:

                       - max. number of normal, HQ, NE bases, and ships per side
                       - max. number of builds on a planet.
                       - if scoring is allowed
                       - initial number of @'s, $'s, /'s, %s',
                                +'s, -'s, ='s, *'s, o's, etc.
                       - regeneration type
                       - if space herpies exists
                       - location if initial ports and objects (from a map file)
                       - if the barrier is killable
                       - endgame, match type, timelimit

If you have an idea for a galaxy configurations, please map
a galaxy map and post it in the TK-WARS forum!

END-GAMES The "end game condition" may be set for any galaxy. End game
conditions include: ending the war when all the HQ bases are
destroyed, when all neutral planets are destroyed, or when
               all enemy ports are destroyed.

MATCHES The "match type" determines the winner of the war. Match
types indicate the winner based on either the number of
ports left (WULFHEAD), ships used (SLUFGEST), total ports
               (POINTS), or combinations thereof (PERSEUS).

TIMED-GALS A galaxy may be configured to "expire" in 30 or more
minutes. This feature is useful in pre-planned matches.

DECLARED WAR In pre-planned matches it is often useful to have an unde-
clared war so that scouting can be done by all sides without
the worry of preemptive attacks. A galaxy may be setup so
that war MUST BE DECLARED by at least one player on each
active side before weapons systems can be used and planets
               can be captured.

MOVING PORTS Some galaxy configurations contain moving ports. At times,
planets and bases may move in a random or fixed orbit. Cap-
turing and building planets may stablize or destabilize a
               planet's orbit.

REGEN-GALS Some galaxy configurations contain ports that regenerate.
This feature is useful in a SLUGFEST match and may extend
the life of a galaxy to infinite. Each time a port is killed
a new port may appear in roughly 30 seconds to replace it.

SPIES Spies may be placed on enemy ships by attempting to DOCK at
them. Spies may also sneak aboard your ship from captured
enemy planets. Once a spy is on your ship the spy may tell
it's owner your location, or worse: perform damage to your
               ship's subsystems!

See `HELP SPIES' for more details.

VIRUSES Space Herpies, a nasty infectious disease, can not be caught
by sitting on a toilet seat; rather, Space Herpies can only
be caught by capturing or building infected planets. Once
your ship is infected you can no longer dock at uninfected
friendly bases -- as a matter of fact, friendly bases *MAY*
open fire on you if you even attempt to dock at them! If
infected, you *WILL* spread the infection to any planet you
               make contact with.

See `HELP VIRUS' for more details.

RESERV-GALS Galaxy entry may be either PASSWORD PROTECTED or RESERVED
for members of TEAMS. In the latter, a TEAM NAME may be
specified for each side allowed to play; only members of the
specified teams are allowed to enter the game. Anyone from
any team may sit in PREGAME.

TEAMS You may set your TEAM NAME with the `SET TEAM <name>' com-
               mand.

DRY-DOCK In DRYDOCK you may change all of your ship's parameters.

See `HELP DRYDOCK' for more details.

DUAL-MODE DUAL-MODE allows you to use a split-screen terminal con-
               trolled session.

See `HELP DUAL' for more details.

HOT KEYS Keystrokes may be defined to issue entire command strings.
See `HELP HOTKEYS' for more details.

TALK-MODE TALK-MODE allows you to automatically send radio messages
each time you type. This is an ancient tactic of the `Great
Stanley Kubrick...' who would sit in a corner, talk to you
about life, love, and the universe, then attack you out of
the blew. Use the `TM' command just as you'd use the `TELL'
               command.
